Asian Thanksgiving Food Drive in Chinatown/ID

Seattle - Asian Thanksgiving is back for 2016! Hing Hay Coworks www.hhcoworks.org, a non-profit community gathering and work space in the Chinatown/ID is hosting a food drive and a kickoff dinner celebration at Tai Tung Restaurant. Tickets are on sale now at https://cidpopup.ticketleap.com/hhc4acrs/.

When: Food Drive kickoff dinner will be held on Saturday, November 12th from 6:00PM to 8:30PM Cost: $25 plus processing fees, seats are limited and tickets must be purchased in advance

Food Drive to benefit ACRS Food Bank begins November 1st, 2016 and ends December 23rd, 2016

What: Come enjoy a delicious family style meal as we kick off the Food Drive at Tai Tung Restaurant. It's not only a favorite dining spot of the late Bruce Lee but also the oldest Chinese restaurant in the Chinatown/ID, opening in 1935!

You can bring canned goods to various locations to support the ACRS food bank until December 23.

Why?: The food drive will benefit the Asian Counseling and Referral Service (ACRS) Food Bank, one of the most visited food banks in King County and the only provider in the state that regularly offers foods that meet Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) dietary needs. In 2015, more than 5,100 people relied on the ACRS food bank; nearly 70% are seniors are over 65 and children under 18.

Donate food items to the following locations in the Chinatown/ID and Seattle:

Wann Yen U. District - 1313 NE 43rd St, Seattle, WA 98105
*Rice and noodles are staples - preferred protein and pantry items include canned tuna, salmon, chicken, mackerel, mung/red beans, soy sauce, seaweed and cooking oil.
